Our family is very into personalized and meaningful Christmas ornaments, but when you’re on a tight budget, getting those personalized glass ornaments for the entire family is just a bit too much. This is a fun way to give a homemade rustic ornament that will look great on everyone’s tree.
You can personalize this craft for an expecting mom, baby’s first ornament, an engaged couple, grandparents, etc.

Supplies you will need are:
Wood rounds – 4”-4 ½” diameter by ½-¾” thick
Pictures
Drill small drill bit and Drill gun
Paint pen (optional)
Acrylic paint (optional)
1. Drill a small hole into the top of the wood round(s). -Remember to make the size of the hole you drill compatible with the width of the twine.
2. Cut out picture into a circle that fits on the wood round.
You can get your pictures printed on photo paper or from a copier on regular paper.
3. Spread a thin layer of mod podge onto the round and lay the picture on top. Then spread an even coat of mod podge on the picture, making sure to cover the edges. Allow your ornament to dry completely.
4. String the twine through the hole and tie it off. You may have to use a pin or pen to reopen the hole if the mod podge sealed it.
Hang on you tree or give as a gift!
*Optional- if you’re using this as a family gift with your children- use acrylic paint to make a hand-print on the backside of your ornament. Once it dries, write the year with sharpie or paint pen and cover with a thin layer of mod podge.
This is a super easy craft. Plus, once you have all the supplies, you can make a ton of these for pretty cheap.
Thank-you so much for taking time out of your day to hang out here!
