Heart Healthy Pumpkin Spice Rustic Granola

Advertisements

So we make a ton of granola in our home. We have kids that like to snack (like most kids) but I refuse to spend money on snacky types of foods. Our budget just doesn’t allow for that. So, instead I just keep a big jar of granola out, ready to go at all times.

For fall my favorite it pumpkin spice granola. Listen, I’m not a pumpkin spice girl. The thought of a pumpkin spice latte makes me nauseous. But this rustic pumpkin spice granola is just the right amount of seasonal flavor that tastes natural without all the artificial flavoring.

What makes this my favorite recipe is the “rustic” part of the granola. There is no need to pull out that food processor and make a bigger mess. You can roughly chop these or crush them like I do with a mason jar in the mixing bowl. It takes very little time and virtually no mess.

This granola is not only super yummy but excellent for your heart health. I will link below a few scientific articles. But pecans and walnuts are rich in omega 3 fatty acids which has been show to decrease your risk for heart disease and can lower your cholesterol.

Pumpkin spice is a blend of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. Cinnamon, ginger, and clove are a great natural anti-inflammatory.

I hope you give this a try this fall and winter season. I’ll probably keep making it on repeat for a while.

Thanks for taking time out of your day to hang out here!
