Homemade All Natural Spoon Butter

Advertisements

I love wooden cutting boards, spoons, and every other kitchen tool you can think of. The least amount of plastic in my kitchen the better. It just feels better in my hand and lasts far longer.

Something it took me far too long to realize is that they need some occasional TLC. That’s where this “spoon butter” or “wood butter” recipe comes in. Apply this whenever your wooden kitchen tools are feeling a little rough or not as shinny and pretty as you know they should be.

This recipe is made with all natural ingredients that are perfectly fine to ingest. Which makes sense since we are going to use these tools to cook with. This recipe is also petroleum free!

You’ll notice the color of the wood immediately grows richer and feels more polished. Well cared for wooden tools should feel basically like plastic. If you have done this process and your wooden kitchen tools still feel rough, try doing the process again. I will use this butter even on my brand new tools.

Everything in this butter is all natural and has an extremely long shelf life. So, it will last in a sealed container for awhile. (I don’t mind keeping mine over a year, but use your own discretion with that)

I hope you give your wooden tools some much needed love. My before pictures are pretty embarrassing but they look great and are working perfectly now.

Thank-you so much for taking time out of your day to hang out here!
