There are two versions of myself while cleaning. There is the super hyper, driven, and laughing mom that is dancing to music. And then there is the angry, grumbling, aggressive, and mental breakdown having mom…
I really don’t like the latter version.
So, I’m learning how to keep myself in check. Not perfectly – mind you – but I’m learning what triggers that angry cleaning lady inside. lol
- Don’t deep clean and declutter at the same time.
- Don’t try to multitask.
- Put on some upbeat music.
- Take on one room or section of the house at a time.
- Have clear goals, so I don’t feel like I’m chasing a moving target.
- Reward yourself, and everyone involved, after you are done!
Multipurpose Cleaner
I use this cleaner for practically all surfaces in my house. This includes counters, tile, bathtubs, toilets, and our hard wood floors.
2 cups vinegar
2 cups water
10 drops lemon essential oil
Wood Polish
This works in place of your typical Pledge or dusting cleaner. Shake bottle before each use.
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoons olive oil
2-4 drops lemon essential oil
Scrubbing Agent
I use this to scrub my sink, bathtub, oven, toilets, and caked on messes.
Baking soda
Deodorizer & Mattress Cleaner
Use this to clean or deodorizer a fabric surface by sprinkling on a thin even layer onto the surface. Allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes, then vacuum it up.
3 cups of baking soda
10 drops essential oils (lemon or tea tree)
All of these cleaners are safe for little hands and allows them to clean along side you. So, I hope you put on your favorite playlist, open the windows, and have fun giving your home a refreshing deep clean.

This year with a new born this list is going to be extra helpful. Our spring cleaning day will be more of a spring cleaning week. But as long as we get everything checked off at some point I consider that winning!
Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to hang out here!
