- Shake the spray bottle before every use because the coconut oil will naturally separate.
Anyone else remember the “No More Tears” detangling spray from childhood? What was in that stuff anyways?? I don’t really remember it working particularly well.
But man do we need that in our lives. My daughter wants Repunzel’s hair but in the morning it looks more like Beetlejuice…
So, here is my all natural detangling spray with essential oils that has been working incredibly well for my daughter. She loves this stuff because it makes brushing her hair painless!
DIY Natural Hair Detangler with Essential Oils
Notes
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/3 cup Water
- 3 tbsp Fractionated Coconut Oil
- Essential Oils of your choice
Instructions
- 1. To a spray bottle, add your apple cider vinegar, water, fractionated coconut oil, and essential oils of your choice.
- 2. Cover the bottle and give it a shake.
- 3. Use liberally.
My Essential Oil Suggestions:
Lavender – can help speed up hair growth and has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties.
Peppermint – promotes hair growth
Rosemary – promotes hair growth and thickens hair
Lemongrass – can help calm dandruff
Thyme – can help prevent hair loss
Melaleuca – has cleansing and antibacterial properties
Ylang Ylang – can help prevent breakage.
Personally, I tend to usually use Lavender and Ylang Ylang.
Everyone’s hair texture is different so if this combination leaves your hair too greasy I would take out some of the coconut oil. Or if you feel like it isn’t working well enough, try adding more coconut oil. Play around until it works well for your hair, this is just what works best for my daughter.
